Biography

With a diverse and robust background in community-led participatory grant-making, Abukar currently serves as the Operations Manager at Camden Giving, where he has been making an impact since June 2023. His career spans over six years, during which he has worked with digital teams across the public, private, and third sectors, honing his skills in community engagement, outreach, and digital communications.

Prior to his current role, Abukar was a freelance Digital Media Consultant, providing strategic advice and support to various organisations.

Abukar holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Politics, and Public Policy from Goldsmiths, University of London and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law and Community Leadership from SOAS University of London. Additionally, he has also earned a Certificate in Developing Annual Sustainability from Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.

Abukar’s career is driven by a passion for leveraging digital tools and community-led approaches to create meaningful change and foster sustainable development in communities.
